Five teams have agreed to participate in the Gulf Arab Football Cup (Gulf 24), which is scheduled to be held in Qatar, later this year.
The Executive Office of the Gulf Union announced the arrival of five official approvals from the federations of Kuwait, Oman, Iraq and Yemen, in addition to the organizing country Qatar.
The Secretary General of the Gulf Football Federation, Jassim Al-Rumaihi, said that the federation followed the regulations by sending official invitations to all eight Gulf federations a year before the start of the tournament, pointing to the arrival of five approvals on time.
He explained that this number is legal for the establishment of the championship "Gulf 24" on time, but the league system of one role among the five teams, and not the group system, which was in place in the case of the participation of eight teams.
He pointed out that the federations of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain did not respond to the speech of the Gulf Union, stressing that the door is open until the draw, which is three months before the start of the tournament.
Al-Rumaihi revealed that there is a tradition of holding the Gulf Cup between late December and early January.
